NEW EXCESS 13 CATAMARAN

Excess 13 debut coming in April!

We are delighted to present the latest model in the Excess range, which perfectly fills the gap between the Excess 11 and Excess 14. This new catamaran embodies the brand’s bold and innovative spirit, with a design shaped by a thorough look at life on board and around it.

We took into account feedback from Excess Lab contributors to imagine a catamaran as close as possible to the needs and wishes of Excess sailors. The Excess 13 is designed both for ocean crossings and for everyday sailing. The full potential of the catamaran is revealed as soon as you leave the harbor, offering a sense of freedom that is every sailor’s dream.

BOLD, INNOVATIVE AND COLLABORATIVE DESIGN
The perfect sailing experience with the new Excess 13

For the design of the Excess 13, naval architecture firm Lombard (MLYDG) was brought in, and Jean Marc Piaton contributed to the interior design.

The focus is on performance, comfort and style, combined with spaciousness, a functional galley and an optimized living area.

The first 3D image of the Excess 13 shows an innovation developed by the Excess team, using feedback from Lab participants. True collaboration!

RECOGNIZED ARCHITECTS AT THE HELM

Eric Levet and his team have created an evolutionary and well-balanced catamaran ready to cross oceans, delivering incomparable sailing experiences. The living areas are designed to provide optimal comfort both at sea and at anchor.

THOUGHTFUL INTERIOR DESIGN

Jean-Marc Piaton has added a touch of elegance and lightness, ensuring that every space is both practical and pleasant to live in and reflects the brand’s character. Natural light fills the interior, and the galley, accessible from both the cockpit and the saloon, creates a harmonious connection between the interior and exterior spaces.

LESS IS MORE

The Excess 13 design is based on the “less is more” philosophy, with the aim of offering more functionality and comfort on board while minimizing negative impacts and the amount of materials used. This approach responds to sailors’ desire for simplicity and efficiency. The result is lighter yet more durable catamarans, delivering outstanding sailing experiences.

For example, the Excess 13 features a rainwater collection system on the roof, which channels rainwater into a tank, as well as an efficient ventilation system that reduces the air conditioner’s energy consumption. The cabin doors are multifunctional – they serve as both entry doors and cupboard doors. When one door is open, the other remains closed, leaving more space for movement. These small details, such as less material and more room to move, make every sail more enjoyable.

THE SEA AS YOUR PLAYGROUND

The Excess 13 is designed for everyone who loves the sea in every sense. At anchor, it is the ideal catamaran for both relaxation and adventure, offering freedom and comfort for all.

The boat’s impressive and innovative external storage spaces provide plenty of room to store all the essential gear for every adventure – whether diving and snorkeling or surfing – every water sports enthusiast will have space for their equipment. The Excess 13 combines functionality and comfort, offering everything you need for your sea adventures.

More lightness. More harmony with nature. More responsiveness. More adrenaline.
